Compare your prices with the market

See how your recurring service prices compare with de-identified groups of similar organizations.

The Benchmarks page answers a simple question: are you paying more or less than similar organizations for the same kind of service?

A comparison looks like this:

Your average mobile line: $62.10 · Similar organizations: median $48.00 (25th–75th: $41.00–$55.00)

Each result is labelled Above market, Below market or In market range. An above-market result also estimates the monthly saving if your average came down to the top of the market range. It is a guide for a conversation with your carrier, not a quoted or guaranteed price.

Market-rate benchmarks are available on the Business and Enterprise plans.

What gets compared

Conduit TEM uses current monthly recurring charges from services billed in the last 90 days. It applies service-level credits and discounts, adjusts multi-month charges to a monthly amount, and leaves out one-time charges, usage and overage, taxes and fees.

Services are compared in practical groups:

  • mobile lines by plan class and data allowance;
  • internet by technology, speed and cost per 100 Mbps;
  • hosted phone seats by cost per seat;
  • phone numbers by cost per DID;
  • SIP and PRI trunks by cost per channel.

When enough data is available, Conduit TEM makes the comparison more relevant by using your province and carrier. Prices are converted to Canadian dollars before comparison.

How privacy is protected

A benchmark appears only when at least ten distinct paid organizations with enough posted history and enough services fit the same group. Province-and-carrier groups require twice that coverage. A group also stays hidden if one organization supplies more than half its services. Conduit TEM shows relatively rounded percentiles with a small amount of protected nightly variation, never another organization's name or price, the cheapest or most expensive value, a ranking, or the number of organizations in the group.

The shared benchmark contains only group labels, counts and protected percentiles. It does not contain organization, account, service or bill-line identifiers. If there is not enough information to protect every contributor, the group stays hidden and you see the waiting-for-data message instead.

Market comparisons are give-to-get: your organization can view them only while it is eligible and contributes current anonymized prices.

Choose whether to contribute

Participation starts off. An owner can go to Settings → Organization and turn on Include my organization's anonymized prices in benchmarks. Turning it off excludes your organization's prices the next time the nightly benchmark is prepared and stops market comparisons and above-market findings for your organization.

Only the owner can change this privacy setting. Admins and other members can see its current state but cannot change it. The organization must also be on a paid plan and have at least 60 days of posted bill history.

Above-market findings

When an average is above the 75th percentile of a published group, Conduit TEM creates an Above market finding. It shows your average, the protected market range and the estimated monthly saving to reach the top of that range. It never shows another contributor's price.

If your price moves into the range, or the group no longer has enough contributors, the open finding resolves on the next nightly run.

When no comparison appears

The Benchmarks page explains that it is still waiting for enough organizations when:

  • fewer than ten eligible organizations fit the group;
  • too few comparable services have been billed;
  • one organization supplies too much of the group;
  • your organization is not opted in, paid, or old enough to contribute;
  • the service details do not say enough to classify it; or
  • there is no supported currency conversion for the bill.

After the owner opts in, comparisons appear when your organization qualifies and enough eligible posted bills contribute to a safe group.
